What does S stand for in iphonescategory: Iphone
There is no official word on what the S on the iPhone 3GS/iPhone 4S stands for. Some believe it stands for speed. Others say, for the iPhone 4S, it stands for Steve (Steve Jobs died one day after the reveal of the phone). Or it could stand for Siri (the personal assistant app on the iPhone 4S). !
You know, Siri is probably what the ‘S’ in the iPhone 4S stands for. Siri, of course, is the voice artificial intelligence engine baked into iOS 5 and running on the fast A5 dual chip in the iPhone 4S. It could also be for speed or Steve!
Siri personal assistant is one of the most appreciated feature in new iPhone 4S released by Apple. But, if you are an Android or Blackberry or a Nokia fan you can enjoy a similar feature by installing vLingo in your smart phone. vLingo is comparable to Siri, but is not a full personal assistant like Siri. to learn more!
Siri is currently only available on the iPhone 4S. It is not available on older iPhone models or on iPod Touch. Siri is an intelligent personal assistant that helps you get things done just by asking. It allows you to use your voice to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and more. on!

There’s a few theories on the i-naming of products. Theres the internet possibility as mentioned in another answer. One of the most common theory is that it indicates a focus on the user. By the time it got to the iPhone it could simply be branding tBy Hiks March 22nd, 2013 at 11:28:18

When the very first iMac was released, it was announced that the “I” stood for “Internet.” Apple has continued to use the “I” for its subsequent technological releases, so it is believed that the “I” in iPhone still stands for “Internet.”By the1rabbits March 22nd, 2013 at 16:30:23

I honestly cannot stand Android phones, what do they do better than iPhones? Performance – hardware specs are better for sure, but I don’t find the iPhone any slower than Android because the lightweight, smooth OS.
Screens- you know the huge android ones that are awkward to hold? iPhones are the perfect size and have a super high pixel density
Apps- theres no doubt in my mind after having a galaxy s 2 skyrocket and an iPhone 4, that the App store has higher quality apps.
“androids can do more” bs, i jailbroke my iPhone and I can do more than an android.
and then theres all the accesories for iPhones.
and double the battery life.
and more stylish
