The iPhone does not allow the use of the SIM card for storage of contacts. The contacts would be on the iPhone, under contacts, and you can delete from there, if you have a SIM card with contacts you may want to find another SIM enabled phone to use just to delete that way.

How to copy all of my iPod touch content to iTunes? I have an iPod Touch (4th gen.) I want to update it, but I’m afraid it will clear out all of my songs, videos, pictures, apps, etc. Just to be safe, how can I get all of my content (music, videos, photos, apps, etc.) to iTunes, so I can have it safely in case the update clears out my iPod?

This is what shows up when I try to update:
*me clicking ‘update’*
“Updating to iOS 5.0.1 will delete all of the apps and media, including iTunes Store purchases, on your iPod touch. To preserve your content, apply this update on the computer where you sync apps, music, videos, and photos.” (p.s. I have gotten music & other media from multiple computers)
“Updating on this computer will only preserve contacts, calendars, text messages, and other settings. Please do not interrupt the update, which may take a hour or longer to complete. iTunes will verify the software update with Apple.”

please help! my mom did this to her iPhone but she has all of her content on one computer. Thanks you!
I thought syncing it cleared your music and other media things and replaced them with what’s in the iTunes on the computer you are using?
